Who can volunteer?

Everyone is welcome. Come volunteer as a team or as an individual.

Hours you volunteer will count toward your team’s volunteer bond.

 

 

How do I volunteer?

Call the office, email us or join our Facebook group to learn about current projects that need your help.

One of the volunteer coordinators can also help find a project that can use your efforts.

Mixed Slo-Pitch Volunteer Bond

Labatt’s Mixed Slo-Pitch collects a $200 volunteer bond from each team. The bond is not collected or refunded by SPBA.

To have your volunteer bond refunded, your team needs to volunteer a minimum of 25 hours this season. 

Bond cheques will be paid out by Mixed Slo-Pitch’s Volunteer Coordinator approximately twice per month. 

 

When you volunteer, please email gpmixedvolunteer@gmail.com the following information:

·         your name

·         team name

·         the date

·         hours worked

·         the project you worked on to

 

It’s your responsibility to report your hours to the Mixed Slo-Pitch Volunteer Coordinator.

Free lunch provided to volunteers.

Invite as many team mates or friends as you'd like.


 

Volunteer projects that need to be completed:


Fencing

·         Securing the chain link fence to the posts on all diamonds.

·         Repair/re-align chain link gates that will not open/close.


Recycle Bins

·         Repair and paint (blue) metal recycle bins located at diamonds.

·         Need Blue paint, scrapers (to remove old stickers) & brushes/sprayer.

·         Volunteer is fabricating new metal bars for locking and has a rivet tool & rivets to repair doors that have fallen off.

 

Irrigation

·         Repairing the grass/infields where the irrigation was buried.

·         Test the irrigation system on the west side diamonds.

·         If you are a plumber or have some experience with irrigation – we need you!



Parking Lots

·         Install fence posts on the perimeter of the two parking lots located near diamond #7 and diamond #8.


Sponsorship

·         Help delivering sign sponsorship packages to businesses.


Other

·         Replace the shingles on the ticket booth near diamond #1

·         Take down the old batting cage behind diamond #1

·         Repair bull pens located at diamonds #1 & #2
